BOEING DREAMLINER....

Hi Friends,
Was busy with my internals and other placement preparations..."hard days"..
These days are hard to pass on as i am fully engaged for the next one week..hope it goes on well..
ok..let me come to the topic....I was just searching in the net about some planes and its design..then i came through this wonderful project ...here are some details about this "BOEING  DREAMLINER"..

Making of a Boeing

Named the Dreamliner, the Boeing 787 is reportedly the most fuel-efficient long range, mid-size passenger airplane and the world’s first aircraft to be constructed using composite materials such as carbon fiber. About 57 meters in length, the plane can seat 210 to 330 passengers and is believed to consume up to 30 percent less fuel than the similarly sized Boeing 767. It can fly at speeds up to Mach 0.85. The first Dreamliner was delivered to Japan’s Air Nippon Airways August 6 and will begin commercial service in October. In 2005, Air India ordered 20 Boeing 787-8 aircraft, which are due to be delivered in December. A flight test was conducted in Delhi in July. The private carrier Jet Airways has also ordered 10 aircrafts.

Boeing 787 Dreamliner is a long-range, mid-size wide-body, twin-engine jet airliner which has a seating capacity of 210 to 330 passengers depending on the variant. The 787-8 is the base model of the 787 family, with a length of 186 feet (57 m) and a wingspan of 197 feet (60 m) and a range of 7,650 to 8,200 nautical miles (14,200 to 15,200 km).

Construction continues inside the new Boeing South Carolina 787 Dreamliner final assembly building

Initial gear-swing testing is the start of a series of tests that verifies correct installation and functionality of landing gear.

Power On has been completed for the first 787 Dreamliner. The test sequence lasted for just over a week and proved the functionality and installation of the airplane's electric systems.Boeing Introduces New Entryway on 787 Dreamliner The interior designers for the Boeing 787 Dreamliner understand fully that first impressions can be everlasting. Therefore, they've designed a larger, more open entryway with sweeping arches that immediately direct the eye upward.

The seats and in-flight entertainment (IFE) showroom in the Boeing 787 Dreamliner Gallery features rows of pre-certified premium seats from all seat suppliers in the 787 catalog. The room enables customers to test seats, reconfigure seats to view variations in pitch and select fabric and color options as well as seating for all classes of the cabin.

The arrival of new Maruti Swift...

Hi friends,
This is my 3rd post of the day...don't know why..may be because the energy level is high on the first day,am so active and eager to post as much i can in my blog..hope this energy level doesn't go in reverse in the forthcoming days.
Let me come to the point..its known to everyone that Maruti has stopped its production of SWIFT (hatchback model) and they have planned to release its brand new model to the market in December 2011.It is expected that the new swift would bounce back its sales and regain its position in the Indian market..I have collected some details regarding its design and specifications and have displayed it in my blog.Any further development or corrections are welcome.. as i'm so eager to know more about the new model SWIFT ...

Talking about the Maruti Swift which is expected to launch the earliest among these models the company is expected to increase its diesel production. Maruti Swift sells about 10,000 units a month and the coming of new Maruti Swift will see the increase in production of diesel cars.

Swift is also expected to have a much higher impact than the newly released Toyota Liva as the Toyota Etios and  Liva comes with only a petrol variant and the Maruti Swift comes with both petrol and diesel variant. The new Maruti Swift comes with a very interesting feature that we will be seeing for the first time i.e. the plastic fuel tank. It is expected to reduce the car weight by 25% and also make it fire resistant, corrosion resistant also this new Swift is expected to be slightly longer than the old model.

The length of the car should be able to tackle the problem and increase the back seat space of the car whereas the longer wheel base and the shorter height should increase the steering accuracy. Somehow the changes are not too many and the car is expected to give a similar look as the old one.

With an interesting future like "Plastic Fuel Tank" and much more..this new model Swift is sure to rock the Indian roads very soon..Also with an increased fuel efficiency of about 13% ..analysts say that this could well be the starting of "SWIFT'S  ERA"...

INDIA-a nation of contrasts...

Hi Guys,
First of all a "Happy Independence Day" to all..On this day lets think of those blood shed days
where our freedom fighters shed their blood to get independence. Its because of them we are living a care-free life today. But is our country  independent enough to be called a democratic one?..no certainly not.

We have that contrasts in life styles..Though Independent, India must deal with extremes that range from delightful to excruciating.

India, a country caught between intense extremities, is home to both Antilla and to Dharavi. The Ambani's 27-storey house, Antilla, one of the world’s most expensive homes, was built at an estimated cost of $2 billion, holding 6 stories of parking, three helipads, nine elevators, and a ballroom of crystal chandeliers. Ironically, Antilla is located in the same city that houses Dharavi, one of the largest slums in the world. Spread over an area of 175 hectares, it is home to over a million people, and affords only one toilet per 1,440 residents.

Water-the most commercial product of 21st century:

In many villages, women have to walk distances of 2.5 to 5 km to fetch water. This time spent in fetching this water is equivalent to 150 million women days, and translates into a loss of 1000 crore per year. In callous contrast, water-themed parks have been spreading across the country, with viral popularity. Almost blind to the way the other half lives, the parks are always packed, as young and old alike, revel in the thrill of a water fight.

Demand for Electricity:

India’s vision of becoming a world leader in nuclear power in sharp contrast to the whopping 35% of population that live without access to electricity today.

Food Starvage:

While millions starve in a country ranked second in the world for the number of children suffering from malnutrition, India also witnesses abject waste in abundance. Food is hoarded for price rise, until rot sets in, and is no longer fit for human consumption. And across the cities, marriage halls hold feasts, while beggars outside scavenge through the garbage, looking for another day’s sustenance.

These are just a very few examples ....there are lot more hidden statistics which many of us do not know..
